अक्षय नवमी - आँवला नवमी (कूष्माण्डा नवमी)
कार्तिक शुक्ल पक्ष की नवमी को कूष्माण्ड नवमी कहते हैं। इस दिन भगवान् विष्णु ने कूष्माण्ड नाम के राक्षस का वध किया था। इस दिन कूष्माण्ड (कुम्हड़ा) में सोना पंचरत्न या द्रव्य रखकर उसकी पूजा करनी चाहिए।
संकल्प इस प्रकार करें - मम सकल पापक्षय पूर्वक सुख सौभाग्य आदीनां उत्तरोत्तर वृद्धये कूष्माण्ड दानं करिष्ये।
